Dear Family,
Well family, this week has been one
full of miracles. It was full of hard work but the Lord blessed us a
lot. We worked real hard Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and really
had very little to show for our work. We had hope that God would
give us something. We talked to every single person that passed us
in the street and finally, about 7 o'clock Wednesday night, we saw a
family walking down the other side of the street towards us. We
quickly ran across the street to greet them and we introduced
ourselves. We told them who we were and the wife (Marcia) told us
that she had went to church 15 years ago. We asked her “were you
baptized?” She said , “No”. Her husband was quite skeptical
at first but then he opened up a little bit. When we mentioned
eternal families he opened right up and we set an appointment for the
next night. We got there and taught them about the restoration of
the church and a bit about baptism. Marcia got all red and with a
huge grin on her face, looked at her husband and told him, “You
know, I got baptized 13 years ago.” Then he opened all up and we
asked him if he would be baptized on Feb 2 and he said, “yes”.
God is so loving and blessed us so
much. Sunday we had 5 people in church which is very good for these
parts. My companion, through his whole mission of 6 months, has only
had 3 people in church, so we broke records, but, only with the help
of God. We have seen so many miracles this week. I sent a recording
that talks about why Marcia went inactive. The church was taken out
of Paute where she was baptized. I'm so happy to be here in Cuenca.
I love you all and I hope that all is
good where you're at. Today I will be sending letters to some of
you....that is if we can find the post office. (haha)
Love,
Elder Profaizer
