Dear Family

 Dear Family, Wow, what a great week! I'm so tired but I gotta tell you, the mission just keeps getting better. It was so good to see the pics from the family. Everyone is growing up so much. Mom, your car is sure looking good and it was good to see the truck in the corner of the pool picture. I miss you guys so much but the mission just keeps getting better. I really can't get enough of it! This week was very special for me. Friday, a seventy came to the mission, Elder Rafail E Pino came to the mission and we had a big meeting with him and three other zones. After the big meeting, us zone leaders had the chance to have a meeting, just the 8 of us and Elder Pino and Presidente Montalti. Wow! What an experience. As we were leaving, he called me and asked if he could talk with me and another Elder. A “just get to know you” interview basically. Wow, it was so amazing to just be in an office with just him and me. He talked about the mission and my family and he said, “even though I don't know your family, tell them hello for me.” I was so honored to be in the same room alone with a seventy, WOW! I'm still walkin on clouds. Pretty happy this week. We have another couple getting ready to get married and they are going to get baptized. I'm so happy for them. Joel Fajardo and his wife, Alexandra. I am so happy for them. Please forward this message to Colton. I really have to be obedient and can't write him or Sarah because, well, now I have to be a really good example to the other missionaries but I would love for him to know I'm still thinking about him. Also, tell Kirby I'm still missing working for him and I'll be home here soon to do grunt work on his beach house. I love you guys so much. Thanks for all the support, oh, and the money. Sorry I had to take $80 out this week because, well, how the saying goes here, “I went CHITO” which means broke. As zone leaders, we travel a lot, but I guess with responsibility comes sacrifice also. I'm going to try to manage my finances better this month but we just don't get enough to make it through. Sorry. Wow, I can't believe that I really only have 10.5 more months. That's so crazy. My companion only has 9 more weeks. He actually extended his mission 4 weeks. I love the guy a lot. He's not trunky yet either, haha, but I'm sure it will come soon. We had 7 baptisms last month and our goal is either make that or beat it this next month. This week we will have 2 and 5 more to go. I LOVE MY MISSION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well, I love you all so much:) Love Elder Profaizer

Dear Familia, Well, this week has been a great one. The couple didn't get baptized but we hope to get them married this week so they can get baptized. The mission is so great, I'm so excited. Since the change to zone leader, it feels like someone hit the NOS button on the mission and now it is FLYING faster than ever. I can't believe it because I have about only 10 months left. That makes me scared because I'm not ready to come home. I have frequent nightmares of being home and not able to communicate with people in English, haha, but I'm glad I still have a few months to keep working. Oh, today I received a bunch of mail, a package from Sarah and you guys and I was so stoked! THANK YOU FOR THE KNIFE, haha, I wasn't thinking when we were in the bus terminal today eating lunch and I pulled that knife out. My companion quickly corrected me and tossed it back in the box, haha, I forgot we are not in the USA. Ooops! I'm still learning. The sweets were very welcomely received and the sharpie markers, thanks so much. Also, thank you Sarah for the pictures. I was so glad to see them. What a pleasant surprise. Thank you all for your letters and news. I'm very sad to hear about Cory Crump. Wow, that's gotta be a hard one on the Crump family. Gosh, that's so crazy how one minute we are here and the next we are gone. We really don't know “Cuando los cielos nos llamen”, 'when the heavens call us'. We just have to always be ready. I'm so grateful to have grown up where I did when I did so I can learn all that I did from my parents and family. You guys are all so great and I can't wait to see ya all here in a short 10 months. But well.......I really can wait:) Please don't think I don't love you guys but I really love the mission and all the crazy stuff we do just to baptize a few people. In the mission, we are passing through a hard time with the baptisms. But, it looks like now we are going to pull outta this rut were in:) I'm really excited to be part of the mission at this time. What an honor that the Lord would trust the salvation of his children in my hands for this short 2 years. Dear Familia, Wow, what a great week. After 3 trips to Guayaquil and a heck of a ton of verifying papers and appointments, the Moreno family got married on Friday. I literally could not contain myself. I WAS SOOOOO STOKED!!!!!!!!!! Holy Smokes, this marriage took sooooooo long. We have tried for five weeks and every time they couldn’t because of little problems and with lots of prayer and fasting and verifying, they finally were able to get married. The reason it took so long really is because people here are so dishonest and try to take advantage of them because they are very poor and they are a black family. Yes, there is racism a little bit here also, but the ward helped us a ton and made friends with the judge and a lawyer and THEY GOT HITCHED!!:) They are so happy. Saturday, Alicia, the mom and her son, David (the mom and little brother of Heidy Moreno that got baptized 3 weeks ago) got baptized and they got confirmed Sunday. What an incredible family and the Mieles family took themselves to church. We had a great turnout in church Sunday also. At 11:30 Saturday night we went flying to the ER and were there until 2:30 in the morning trying to get my companions blood pressure back to normal. His heart was pumping 100 beats a minute and had a blood pressure of 160/100. Yeah, it was high but he’s tough so we keep going. I’m actually in Guayaquil right now as we just got out of the hospital. He’s alright though. We hope to have two more baptisms in our sector and we hope to end this month with nine:) It’s cool. The ward is SOOOOO stoked because before we got here, the missionaries didn’t do anything and only had two baptisms all year. I testify to being obedient. If you are, God blesses you and he has been dropping baptisms out of the heavens, really! Wow, and they are whole families also. That’s the best part. I’m so content with the work! Really, I am so happy. The mission is the best:) I love you all so much, Love, Elder Profaizer
